When evening came, his slaves left quickly, and Bagoas closed up the tent from the outside and shut out those who had been waiting on his master. They all went to bed, for they were exhausted because the party had lasted a long time.
And when it was grown late, his servants made haste to their lodgings, and Vagao shut the chamber doors, and went his way.
Finally, when it got late, the guests excused themselves and left. Bagoas then closed up the tent from the outside and prevented Holofernes' servants from going in. So they all went to bed; everyone was very tired because the banquet had lasted so long.
When it grew late, his servants quickly withdrew. Bagoas closed the tent from the outside and dismissed the attendants from their master’s presence. They went off to their beds, for they were all tired because the banquet had lasted so long.

Forsooth as soon as eventide was made, his servants hast(en)ed to their inns, that is, (to their) tents; and Bagoas closed together the doors of the closet where Holofernes lay, and went forth. [As forsooth eventide is done, his servants hied to their harbourgeries; and Bagoas closed the doors of the privy chamber, and went.]
